Automated credit analysis that sees the whole reality
Our digital tools support financial institutions with an automated credit analysis that captures the economic and financial reality of their clients. With lower operating costs and full sight of their risks, they can become champions of financial inclusion and ecological transformation.
Client exposure and crop sensitivity surface inside the credit decision, not beside it.
Adaptation measures matched to the client and financed as part of the loan.
Customers leverage YAPU's taxonomies of nature-based solutions to raise not only a client's output, but their resilience against climate events.
Part of the UNFCCC Race to Resilience
In 2021 we established Scale for Resilience with our partners CIAT/CGIAR and GAWA Capital. The initiative forms part of the UNFCCC Race to Resilience.
It aims to make smallholder farmers and rural communities more resilient by leveraging nature-based solutions — addressing the whole financial value chain so NbS can be financed at scale.
Projects we have shaped
The MEbA project seeks to provide vulnerable populations with access to microfinance products and services to foment their climate change adaptation.
It works with microfinance institutions as agents of change and primarily targets to de-risk small-scale agricultural finance by proactively managing climate change — creating local adaptation capacities and leveraging additional public and private finance for Ecosystem-based Adaptation.
Open project page →This EcoMicro project is geared toward small-scale agricultural producers and enterprises in rural areas across Ecuador, and seeks to use data and finance to improve their climate resilience.
Microfinance institutions are supported in proactively managing climate change risks and providing effective, cost-beneficial solutions for vulnerable populations. YAPU’s platform operationalizes these efforts.
Open project page →Biodiversity is a key component of agricultural finance, but is threatened globally — weakening agricultural production. It is seldom considered in credit decisions, further increasing that tendency.
The platform lets interested financial institutions integrate biodiversity risk assessment seamlessly into existing processes, enabling specific refinancing solutions and supporting solid MRV systems.
Open project page →The global spread of COVID-19 put the world in an unprecedented situation from the beginning of 2020, and governmental countermeasures put financial institutions under extreme pressure.
Between April 7 and April 28 of 2020, the webinar series — developed and delivered by YAPU, ID inspiring development and DigitalBank LatAm — gave financial institutions in Latin America concrete suggestions on how to address the emerging crisis in sustainable ways.
