01 / OUR NAME

Yapuchiri

ya·pu·chi·ri  ·  noun

DEF.A leader farmer of the Bolivian Andes who tests new practice on their own land, then teaches it.
ORIG.Andean agroecological tradition
CHIRI
↳ THE NAME WE KEPT

Yapuchiris collect, create and share agroecological knowledge in their own community. They experiment on their own land first — then teach.

Blending ancestral knowledge with newly adopted practice, they act as the bridge between what a region already knows and what it has yet to try. That posture is the one we took as our name.

In that spirit YAPU builds digital tools for financial institutions in developing countries that serve the most vulnerable, microenterprises and SMEs — identifying social, climate and nature-related risk, and answering it with dedicated loan products.

ON THE GROUND

Every credit decision lands on someone's field, shop or harvest.

02 / WHY WE DO IT

In developing countries it often depends on a lender whether a business can thrive — or a farmer will have a good harvest.

01
Digitize the process

Field-ready workflows replace paper and spreadsheets, so small-ticket rural lending finally adds up.

02
Sharpen the risk view

Social, climate and nature-related risk sit inside the credit decision — and improve the terms clients are offered.

03
Become investable

Documented impact opens the door to additional funding, and institutions grow into agents of change.

03 / TEAM

Engineers, agronomists,
finance specialists

HOW WE WORK

Local partners, local realities — international best practice.

05 / PARTNERS & OFFICES

We are looking for local partners

Explore a partnership →

YAPU believes in creating local capacity using international best practices. We work with different types of cooperation agreements, but always aim to work with local partners, so that local realities, solutions and know-how are reflected in what we build.

Our platform adjusts to any local condition — business models, lending methodologies, climate solutions and economic sectors among them.
